Someone Said This!

Each month(ish), I publish a zine that highlights some of the best lyrics I’ve ever heard. It’s my ode to the people who have the courage to say things out loud. Each issue comes with a companion playlist you can find on Spotify.

Vol. 1, no. 1: If my wishes came true

On the other side of this heartbreak, if you’re lucky, will be a particular kind of sadness: The Beautiful Sadness. This won’t happen for everyone, and certainly not every time. But some of the best lyrics are an ode to The Beautiful Sadness.

Dolly Parton promised it in “I Will Always Love You.”
Ronnie Milsap declared it in “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It for the World.”
Taylor Swift confessed it in “I Almost Do.”
And, of course, Garth Brooks moved all of us with it in “The Dance.”

Someone Said This?! Vol. 1 No. 1 covers my obsession with the feeling each of these songs talks about in one way or another. You can find the playlist here.

Vol. 1, no. 2: I’m so done with that
